AHMEDNAGAR: Members of the Tanishka Women’s Dignity Foundation from villages in Ahmednagar and Solapur districts have demanded reduction in load-shedding at night.

During debates on the issue of load-shedding, members of the Tanishka Foundation in Lohasar village in Pathardi taluka and Dhondpargaon in Jamkhed taluka of Ahmednagar district, stressed on the need for completely eliminating darkness in their villages. Members from Vitthalwadi village in Solapur district have also demanded that there should be adequate power at night.

Many women from Lohasar village in Pathardi taluka, Dhondpargaon in Jamkhed taluka of Ahmednagar district and Taradgaon in Jamkhed taluka and Jakhangaon village in Ahmednagar taluka, have become members of the Tanishka Foundation .
Through this initiative, various government projects and schemes are being effectively implemented in villages. The healthcare and agricultural needs of each individual in these villages are also being looked into.

Speaking about load-shedding in these villages, members of the Tanishka Foundation have said that installment of environment-friendly lamps and adequate lights at night will create a sense of security among the local residents.
The forum has been successful in enforcing a complete ban on consumption of liquor and gambling in Vitthalwadi in Madha taluka of Solapur district.

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation has also introduced bus services to these villages. The residents have now demanded electricity supply at night to provide security to residents and also to help students study at night.
