Baramati: Tanishka Women’s Dignity Foundation members from Malegaon, Panadare in the Baramati taluka have decided to keep a watch on local fair price shops to check whether these shops distribute grains and kerosene as per the rules or not.
The members will conduct raids on fair price shops to inspect whether the shop owners regularly distribute grains and kerosene to the eligible beneficiaries, group’s leader Mangala Borawake said.
A meeting of the Tanishka Women’s Dignity Foundation members from Malegaon, Panadare, was held on Sunday. Borawake said that the meeting decided to visit the fair price shops to check the entry and exit register and other government documents. The members will demand that the sub-divisional officer and tehsildar take action against those shop owners who are found guilty of various irregularities, she said. Borawake also said that the forum members will create awareness among schools and college students to persuade them to celebrate pollution-free Diwali.
The meeting was attended by Dr Deepali Jadhav, Maya Khomane, Suvarna Taware, Sangita Jadhav, Sudarshana Taware, Sangita Wabale, Anjali Khajindar, Priti Borawake and Asha Nawale.
