Manchar: Ketki Nitin Valse-Patil, winner of the Miss South Asia-Canada Beauty Contest 2013, accepted the membership of Tanishka Women’s Dignity Foundation in Ambegaon on Monday.

She was welcomed to the group, during a function organised at the auditorium of the Manchar Agricultural Produce Market Committee, by Malati Thorat, leader of the group, Meera Bankhele, the time keeper, Geeta Gadhve, the moderator, and other members. Filling the application form for the membership, Ketki said, “I used to regular read about Tanishka Foundation and its activities through eSakal. I was very curious about this group and its activities. The Sakal Media Group is contributing largely to social transformation and I am happy to be a part of it.”

“I must be the first international member of the Tanishka Foundation . I plan to bring together Marathi women in Canada and form a Tanishka Foundation there too,” she added. Those present, included Sushama Shinde, Surekha Hande, Maya Dethe, all members of the Mandchar Gram Panchayat. Ketki also attended the Tanishka meeting held under the presidentship of sarpanch Ashwini Shete and interacted with the members.
