300 women screened at bone density camp
Satara: A bone density check-up camp, organised by Tanishka Women’s Dignity Foundation at Sanjeevan Hospital here, received an overwhelming response.
Organised especially for women, the camp revealed that of the 300 screened women, 45 per cent were suffering from low bone density, while 40 per cent had low calcium.
A Tanishka initiative, the camp was organised by doctors from Sanjeevan Hospital, with the cooperation of Wallace Pharmaceuticals. The Forum’s group leader and orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Sunita Pawar, conducted the free check-up and treatment camp, where participants were educated on the dangers of less calcium.
Those who helped organise the camp, include Nita Mane, Sunil Phadtare, Nationalist Congress Party’s women unit district president Surekha Patil, Prabha Kawachale, Sulochana Khataukar, Kaushalya Lawand, Khurshid Bhagwan and Sangita Swamy.
