"Sakal" quenches thirst of Kavthemahakal Village

In some of the villages of Kavthemahakal- Visapur area, the regional plan was halted due to unpaid bills. In such difficult times, the thirst of the villagers was quenched by the tremendous efforts of Tanishka Foundation. With the help of Sakal Relief Fund, Tanishka Foundation removed the sludge of the almost dead pond of Jhurewadi and with the assistance of Mhaisal Lift Irrigation Scheme the pond was refilled with water.

While the rest of the state was suffering from the heat wave and draught-like situation, the pond of Kavthyamahakal proved to be crucial in satisfying the thirst of its villagers. The Mr. Sachin Dongre, Administrator of Nagarpanchayat, thanked Sakal for its help. He said, “The pond of Jhurewadi supplied water not only to us but satisfied the thirst of nearly about 17,000 people from the nearby villages. The regional plan was halted for 21 days. During this time we provided almost 84 lakh liters of water to the villagers.”

The water crisis was thus defeated with help of the villagers and Tanishka Platform.
