Spreading Peace & Harmony
Manchar: It was a dispute regarding the embankment of a farmland in Pimpalgaon Khadki, which was lingering on for 25 years. The Sarpanch and Chairman of the Village Committee were unable to resolve the issue despite several attempts. Finally, the dispute was settled by the Tanishka group by finalising boundaries of the embankment in the presence of all the villagers.
Bhaktemala is a plantation situated in the southern part of Pimpalgaon Khadki, along Manchar – Avasari Khurd road. The families of Suman Tambe and Kamal Bangar resided around the plantation which were adjacent to each other. The two families were estranged due to an issue concerning the boundary of the embankment which often led to many heated arguments over a period of time. The two ladies even came to blows on few occasions. The Sarpanch, Balasaheb Bangar and Chairman of Mahatma Gandhi dispute-free Village Committee, T. K. Bangar tried to settle the dispute, but failed to succeed in their efforts.
As the enmity was increasing, Bangar approached the Tanishka Group leader, Sujata Pokharkar requesting her to intervene and try to settle the dispute. She tried solving the issue and emphasised on the financial loss and psychological harm that was being caused to both the families because of their dispute based on discussions with the Sarpanch and the Chairman of the Village Committee. The efforts taken by the Tanishka group evoked a positive thought in the minds of the two families and the ladies took a conciliatory approach to settle the dispute.
