Tanishka members organize a field trip

“I Embarked on a Journey and Transformed into a Butterfly (Mee Nighale; Phulpakharu Zale)”

Badlapur: Involved in daily chores like cooking, looking after children’s homework and keeping the house neat and tidy, women have no time for themselves. Tanishka members decided to organize a one-day picnic for themselves and get a refreshing break from the daily routine. Around 150 members from Kalyan, Navi Mumbai and Mumbai showed interested in this activity and decided to visit the Vishnu Baug Environment theme park located at Devloli near Badlapur.

Praveen Gunjal and Prathama Shirodkar, members of the Tanishka team took special efforts in organizing the picnic and arranged for a training session on saving the environment.

Tanishka members started playing Antakshri and cracking jokes right from the time they boarded the bus. To their surprise, Marathi series actresses Siddhi Karkhanis and Gautami Deshmukh also joined the Tanishka group in their trip adding to the excitement and joy. They proved the motto of the picnic – “Mee Nighale; Phulpakharu Zale (I embarked on a journey and transformed into a butterfly)” – to be totally apt.

On reaching Vishnu Bag, all the ladies monopolised the artificial waterfall and lived their childhood once again by splashing water on each other, irrespective of their age. Members grabbed the opportunity of interacting with the actresses and surrounded them. They even posed with the actresses and clicked ‘selfies’ to capture beautiful memories.

Jayashree Jambhale, an Environmentalist from Badlapur, introduced the ‘nature cooker’ developed by the Marathi Vidnyan Parishad (Marathi Science Council) to the Tanishka team. She explained how we can save our natural resources from depletion and also help to reduce pollution. The cooker can be easily handled by anybody and its use does not involve any risk. Any type of food can be prepared within an hour by simply using 100 grams of domestic coal prepared from waste material.

After enjoying their meal, Tanishka members plucked a few raw mangoes from the park and enjoyed clicking photographs with Mother Nature. While these activities were underway, Dr. Kantilal Solanki, Director of Vishnu Baug, provided some information about the medicinal herbs growing in the garden. Many ladies carried back some of these herbs with them.

Meera Sanjay Patil, a corporator from Navi Mumbai, Santosh Shetty of Shetty Enterprises, Mayur Borkar, Publicity Head of Republican Party (Athavle Group), Sudhir Raut, General Manager, Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Transport Undertaking, and manager Shyam Pashte extended cooperation in making the picnic a big success. Dr. Dinesh Dole, two nurses and Public Relations officer, Neelesh Bhoir were also present to provide medical cover to the ladies participating in the picnic.
