Under the flagship program of USAID (United States Agency for International Development)Justice and Security Program, the first Women’s Justice Centre was opened in Oaxaca, Mexico in 2012. The objective of setting up a women’s justice centre was to provide a one stop solution to women under a single roof and avoid victims to be re-victimized by the judicial system process. This centre aims to provide non-chargeable advocacy for victims of rape, domestic violence, and child abuse, particularly in the nearby communities. There are 18 Women Justice Centres in Mexico supported by both, the Federal and State Government.

The Women’s Justice Centre addresses concerns of nearby communities of Hidalgo close to Pachuca, the State capital. The center provides services like:

  • Social Services
  • Prevention Services
  • First Level Medical Care
  • Legal Services
  • Care Center for Children
  • Women Empowerment Programs
  • Counseling Services
