Huge response to Tanishka women’s dignity forum workshops to be held in Mumbai on March 21-22
Pune: Elected women representatives from various parts of Maharashtra will be attending the Tanishka women’s dignity forum workshops to be held in Mumbai on March 21 and 22.
The women are travelling to the State capital from places as diverse as Jalna, Deglur, Bidkin, Ajra, Akkalkot, Wardha, Pathardi, Bhor and Mokhada.
Vehicles displaying banners of the Tanishka Foundation are ready to leave for Mumbai from various parts of the State.
Initiated by the Sakal Media Group’s Saam Marathi channel, as part of the Tanishka Stree Pratishtha Abhiyan, the two-day workshops are attracting a huge response. Women from the drought-hit region of Marathwada are also coming in large numbers to attend the workshops.
Elected male representatives of the Nanded Zilla Parishad have rescheduled their general body meeting to facilitate the women to attend these workshops.
Representatives cutting across party lines from small villages and tehsils are travelling in the same vehicle to reach Mumbai.
While the elected women representatives will form part of this first stage in Mumbai, the later stages will see other sections including working women, teachers, homemakers and entrepreneurs coming together.
Elected women representatives, who attended the inaugural session of the Tanishka Stree Pratishta Abhiyan on January 31, had sat together in groups and listed out various ways to safeguard the dignity of women and to create a better society.
The women coming to Mumbai will be part of groups that will attempt to solve personal and family problems and seek answers to village and societal issues.
Activities held under the Tanishka Foundation will help women realise the need to gather information, acquire skills and strengthen themselves to find solutions to social problems.
