With the increasing awareness of health hazards of consuming vegetables cultivated using pesticides, Tanishka Group of Boramani, Solapur have started an initiative called “Producer-to-Consumer”. Under this initiative, the organic vegetables cultivated in Boramani will be directly sold to consumers in Mumbai in the name of “Vishmukta Bhajipala Vikri Kendra”. Yashaswini Agro Producer Company Limited and Prabhulinga Mahila Shetkari Bachatgat will be a part of this initiative.

Fifteen female members of Prabhulinga Mahila Shetkari Bachatgat have undertaken the task of producing these organic vegetables. Whereas, Yashaswini Agro Producer Company with the help of R. K. Export, New Mumbai, will make these organic vegetables available to the consumers in Mumbai. A sales centre in Boramani has been started for the purpose of sending these goods to Mumbai.

Anita Malge, Tanishka Head, Boramani, Solapur said, “This initiative by both Tanishka and Yashaswini Agro Producer Company will be beneficial for both the farmers and villagers, as the farmers will sell the same organic vegetables in the Bormani market. ”
