Mumbai: Hundreds of elected women representatives from across the State have started pouring into the State capital to participate in the two-day Taniksha women’s dignity forum workshops organised by Sakal’s Saam Marathi channel at the PJ Hindu Gymkhana from Thursday.

Women representatives cutting across party ranks will assemble for the workshops to be held between 12 noon and 6 pm at the Gymkhana grounds located at Marine Lines on Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday, representatives from Pune, Nagpur, Amravati, Washim, Buldhana, Gadchiroli, Akola, Yawatmal, Bhandara, Chandrapur, Wardha, Nashik, Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar will participate in the workshop.

While on Friday, the workshop will engage participants from Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Solapur, Mumbai, Raigad, Thane, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed, Osmanabad, Latur, Nanded, Parbhani and Hingoli districts.

Among those who reached Mumbai on Wednesday included a large number of women from Marathwada, which is currently reeling under a severe drought. The participants included both young and old elected representatives, both equally enthusiastic to contribute to the many brainstorming sessions scheduled at the workshops

These workshops are a follow-up of the Tanishka Stree Pratishta Abhiyan function held in Mumbai on January 31, when the Taniksha’s women dignity forum was launched. On that day, 600 elected representatives had participated in group discussions to find solutions to the many challenges faced by them today.

Telecast on Saam Marathi

The workshops will be telecast on Saam Marathi channel on Thursday and Friday. On Thursday, the workshop will be telecast from 12 noon to 1 pm and again between 7 pm and 8 pm. There will be a repeat telecast from 12.30 am to 2.30 am. On Friday, the telecast timings are 10 am , 11 am, 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm, 5 pm and 9 pm.
