PUNE: Lead actors Vidyut Jamwal and Pooja Chopra from the forthcoming film, ‘Commando’ had the Sakal Times readers eating out of their palms on Friday evening. The film directed by debutant Dilip Ghosh is slated for a April 12 release. Twenty selected women readers had been invited to interact with the two actors.
Vidyut, the son of a retired army officer is a martial arts expert and has performed every stunt in the film himself. And without the help of any equipment.
Pooja, a Pune girl has studied at Mount Carmel school and Nowrosjee Wadia college and is winner of the Miss India pageant.
Women readers could not hold back their excitement when the stars arrived. During the interaction one of them asked Vidyut, “Apko dekh kar, kuch nahi bol parahi hoon main,” to which Vidyut replied, “Itni sari auraton ko dekh kar meri bhi bolti band ho gayi hai.”
Pooja, who is making her Bollywood debut said, “When I am in Mumbai I work like a robot. However, when I am back in Pune, I come alive once again. I see familiar streets, signals, restaurants. Pune is home. My mother still lives here.” When a reader asked her about her struggle in Bollywood, the pretty actor said, “My mother has struggled so far. She has single handedly brought up my sister and me. My struggle has only just begun.”
Vidyut, who made a mark as a action-villain in the film, ‘Force’ pointed out that he had begun learning martial arts since the age of three. “It is only because I know martial arts, that I became an actor. I am not here because I know acting or dancing.” He said he fancied action films and did not mind acting as a hero or villain, as long as the role promised plenty of action.
Vidyut admitted that he admired the action roles of Suneil Shetty, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar. “I would love to act with Akshay Kumar. That film will become the best action film in the world,” Vidyut said.
Both actors urged the fans to see the film, “If you love us, please go and our film.”
