Action hero Jamwal teaches women self-defence techniques

75PUNE: ‘Commando’ film action hero, Vidyut Jamwal shared a few basic self defence techniques with 20 select Sakal Times lady readers on Friday evening.

Vidyut, who is a martial arts expert has used the famed, Kerala martial art form, Kalaripayyatu in the film.

Before beginning the demonstration, Vidyut declared that women were the superior species. “Men should not think that they are superior to women. Men may be physically stronger, but women are more intelligent,” the action hero said.

Vidyut demonstrated how the eyes, nose, ears, throat and groin were the most vulnerable parts in a man’s body and how women should attack these parts in self defence.

“If you simply poke or press the eyes of the man hard, it is very painful,” Vidyut said.

He demonstrated how to twist the arm and press the ears of a man.

“The simplest self defence technique is to kick the man in his groin or joints,” Vidyut said.

The actor even demonstrated how to tackle a gun-wielding attacker. “Women need to keep their presence of mind and simply distract the man and snatch the gun away. This is completely possible,” the actor said.

The actor demonstrated a few acrobatic somersaults himself. Later, both Vidyut and his co-star Pooja Chopra posed for pictures with the women readers.
