Tanishka group celebrates Diwali with visually-challenged children

nPimpri: Members of the Tanishka Women’s Dignity Foundation from Shahunagar, Chinchwad, celebrated Diwali with visually-challenged children.

At their monthly meeting, the members had resolved to celebrate Diwali in an unique way. In keeping with this resolution, members of the Shahunagar group celebrated with the visually-challenged students of the Bhosari-based ‘Ratnavihar’, a school run by the Patashibai Ratanchand Manavkalyan Trust.

Group leader Supriya Chandgude along with other members interacted with the students to understand their problems and assured them assistance.

10They also organised entertainment programmes and competitions for the students. Headmaster K B Khandagale informed the group members about various activities of the school.

The members also distributed sweets that they had made especially for the students.

Those present on the occasion included Kalpana Jadhav, Dwarka Bhargude, Ranjana Mahavir, Vaishali Khairnar, Vaijayanti Supekar, Kalpana Patil, Lalita Thenge, Chhaya Patil, Rekha Chandgude, Chhaya Ghadge, Shobha Darkunde, Ratnamala Kadam, Rekha Chudasama, Meenal Hingne and Swati Gaikwad.
