
Members of the Tanishka Foundation hoisted ‘Gudhi’ at the historic Mahalaxmi temple in Kolhapur, on occasion of marking a new chapter in upholding the dignity of women in society. This ‘Gudhi’ was hoisted in the presence of renowned sportspersons of Kolhapur such as Varsha Patki, Weightlifter; Snehankita Varute, Powerlifter; Radhika Barale, Shooter; Sugandha Mane, Wrestler; Rucha Pujari, Chess player; Anuja Patil, International Cricketer; Nandu Aabdar, Wrestler; Ajinkya Gujar, Football player and Navnath Fartade, District Sports Officer.
The Tanishka Foundation’s movement aims at destroying the exploitative attitude of society towards women. Various groups of women, working in a systematic framework under the Tanishka Foundation will execute this movement and show that women can be a great support to other women. For this, they should come forward to help and respect other women.

Chaitra Pratipada, which is the first day of the Hindu new year, celebrated as Gudhi Padwa symbolises the victory of good over evil and is a day of new resolutions. The Gudhi is hoisted on this day to welcome the new year. The resolution of dignity towards women has been made through the Tanishka Foundation, which will endeavour to restore the honour of women in society.
