Mexico: Group Salinas leads the nationwide launch of Tanishka Foundation Mexico with Fundación Azteca, Kybernus, The Women’s Project, Sakal Media Group and Delivering Change Foundation to promote high impact socio-economic transformation through women, providing them with a platform that provides them with dignity and respect, empowering them and thus ensuring social and economic security.
In the presence of Ricardo B. Salinas Pliego, chairman of Grupo Salinas, Elisa Salinas, Director of Azteca Novelas, Francesca Salinas, President of The Women’s Project, Abhijit Pawar, Chairman & Founder, The Delivering Change Foundation & Managing Director of Sakal Media Group (SMG), Bobby Nimbalkar, Director of Strategic Leadership Council SMG, Esteban Moctezuma Barragán, Executive Chairman of Azteca Foundation and Fernando Espinosa de los Reyes, Director General of Kybernus, announced the details of this program founded in April 2013.
In just over a year and a half, Tanishka has 100,000 members and over 5,000 success stories. Its mission is to promote socio-economic transformation for women, giving them a place of honour and respect, empowerment and social and economic security. Its framework is to create groups of upto 20 women in all communities- urban, suburban and rural. Each group meets once a month to raise a problem that is plaguing their community or neighbourhood. Each session is issue specific and seeks to establish an implementable plan. Tanishka will support them through a network of supervisors, coordinators and reporters, who advise, assess and track all groups and projects to ensure high impact, quickly implementable change to positively transform the lives of women in communities,states and the entire nation.
