Manjri: Members of the Tanishka Women’s Dignity Foundation participated in a workshop on self-defence, organised by the forum, and took the pledge to work towards women empowerment.
The workshop was organised in association with the Durgamata Strishakti Pratishthan and Samarth Stree Charitable Trust. Participants of the workshop were guided by Police Sub-Inspector Dattatraya Madane, advocate Smita Nikam, Pandharinath Nivgune, Nanaheb Suryavanshi, group leader Surekha Suryavanshi, Madhavi Gupte and Varsha Medhekar.
Speaking on the occasion, Nikam said, “Women face several problems due to lack of knowledge about the law and its provisions. Workshops enable women to understand the law better.”
“Women should be concerned about their safety at home and outside. They should seek assistance from the police whenever required,” he added.
Members Rohini Kakde, Lata Zende, Chhaya Kudale, Megha Pawar, Pratibha Pawar, Priyanka Nivgune, Meera Dhumal, Kamala Lavate, Kamla Jagtap, Shobha Pawar, Madhuri Raut, Deepali Chavan, Rani Yadav, Vandana Sahane, Somnath Yadav, Yuvraj Suryavanshi and Babam Jagtap had organised the workshop.
